AZ Human Movement Program Overview

The Athletic Zone Human Movement Series is based on the Ido Portal Method, over the 6 weeks we will be covering:

Coach Ben Howe will take you through an eye opening 6 weeks, his coaching philosophy is heavily influenced by the amazing Ido Portal method.

Be prepared for your training to never be the same again…In a good way, of course.

Joint Mobility

Covering joint mobility and self assessment of our bodies. Creating your own joint mobility warm up sequence, one that can be used in your day to day lives and implemented into this course.

Learning specific movements in these areas:

  • Neck
  • T Spine
  • Spine
  • Shoulders
  • Elbows
  • Hips
  • Knees
  • Ankles
  • Wrists

Joint Preparation (Hips, Wrists & Ankles)

  • Implementation of your mobility sequence.
  • Isolation; a series of targeted movements and exercises specifically designed to increase hip, wrist and ankle mobility and strength.
  • How to work these movements into your workout routine.
  • Look into how these movements integrate into larger patterns.
  • Stick games and body/mind riddles.

Joint Preparation (Shoulders and Scapular)

  • Implementation of your joint mobility sequence.
  • Isolation; a series of targeted movements and exercises specifically designed to increase shoulder mobility and strength.
  • How to work these movements into a workout routine.
  • Look into how these movements Integrate into larger patterns; muscle up, chin up, ape swinging, pull up.

Integration (Handstand & Muscle Up)

Isolation of the key movements needed to perform each pattern. Very little people understand and perform the complete sequence correctly when attempting these movements. Often we run before we can even crawl.

  • Implementation of your joint mobility sequence.
  • Isolation and then Integration of movements previously learned into the necessary patterns needed to perform the required sequence.
  • How to work these movements into a workout routine.
  • Run through specifically designed routines.

Locomotion & Play

Learn how to move like and animal.

  • Implementation of your joint mobility sequence.
  • Basic quadruped movements and drills.
  • Beginner and intermediate lizard walks.
  • Finishing with something special.
