Here in the Athletic Zone we’re all on this journey ‘to be better’ as a team – What it means to you ‘to be better’ will be different to the next person; and their level of compliance and commitment ‘to be better’ will also be different to yours.
Where ever you are at, one thing is for sure it is not easy. Is it worth it? You know the answer to that, of course it is. This quest to be better, to constantly challenge yourself and each other, is what keeps you coming back day after day, week after week, month after month. This is the CrossFit community. An incredibly supportive, motivating and fun environment that helps people achieve a level of fitness and health that can’t be replicated.
Challenges, successes and triumphs shared with the entire support of the AZ group every step of the way, can simply not be underestimated!
Each month we recognise one of our athletes. This athlete may or may not know how much they are inspiring those around them with their achievements in and out of the Athletic Zone.
Congratulations to Athletic Zone’s May Athlete of the Month – Lachlan Stuart!
Lachie aka “the body” is our May AOM for many reasons! Not only does he have the looks of a Calvin Klein model, smile and teeth from a dental commercial and the body of a front-page sports model, he’s actually a top bloke as well.
He is super keen to learn and inspire others to be the very best they can be. He brings good energy with his encouraging and positive attitude to every class and event we run in the AZ, he’s just an all round legend to have part of our AZ family.
As an athlete he has taken on our full Yin and Yang philosophy by complimenting his hard work and dedication in the box with our Restoration Zone, which has helped with his recovery and mobility and is paying dividends on the gym floor.
His hard work and dedication to want to improve has seen his fitness progress rapidly, which has motivated others around him. His progress in such a short time has been nothing short of remarkable, with a solid effort for his first Open this year and first CrossFit comp last month.
I can’t wait to see how far Lachie comes with another 12months of training under his belt. Lachie is a familiar friendly face in our box, making new and old members to our community feel welcome.
Well done on being our May AOM Lachie, very well deserved champion!

Get clear on why it’s important for you to be healthier, it makes it a lot easier to be consistent with your training and nutrition.
